I really don't think losing the drop-down menu is much of a deterrent; I never found it to be much of a useful feature in the first place.

In any case, I can't wait until it's finished, and I'm so glad to hear it's turning out so well!

The converter script is complete Last night I did another round of detailed testing, etc. I couldn't find any problems (that are a result of the conversion). In addition, I released the converter to the Open Source community. If anyone is interested click here to download it.

That being said, God willing this weekend I'm going to proceed as planned with switching us to the other game software

Unfortunately this had to be put on hold over the weekend... As many of you may have noticed - particularly yesterday. There was a major problem with one of the website's databases. The end result was many area's of the website could not be accessed. However, as you can see - we're back up

Just attempted the converter script on the website's game database and received a small error. It's nothing major but I cannot proceed until we work this out. I already contacted my programmer and he's looking into it.

Apparently the problem is the result of the way that our current game software manages 'scores' and 'usernames'.

When a score is saved it saves/links the data to the 'username' field... but the wiser option would have been to save/link the data to the user 'id' field. The reason being, when a member changes their User Name, their scores are not carried over to the new name. So you end-up having scores in the database under old 'usernames' - just sitting there because they don't belong (aren't linked) to anyone.

When I ran the converter, it didn't know how to process this nomad data so it halted (and gave me an error).

We're still working on this and we may have a work-a-round. I'm going to test it tonight.

I'm a little fustrated because I'm really excited at the fun-factor that this new software is going to bring to the website and it's a tease for us to be ssssooo close and not being able to complete the process

I even tucked away some really good games that I will release once the new software is on the site
